Marh’abaa to this the first publication of the Maldives Economy Today (MET). The objective of MET is to heighten the awareness and reach of matters economic, and to disseminate such information through publication and other means.

MET is borne at a critical time in our nation’s economic health and our attempt today, and will continue to be, is to seek a diversity of opinions, from academics, experienced professionals and make them available to our readers. The search for relevant input will not be limited to our lived local experience, as we shall seek to widen the pool of relevant input from others who have observed, studied and served this economy, again from a variety of perspectives.

We certainly welcome and indeed request for commentary, advice and guidance of our readers please address them to maldiveeconomy@gmail.com. We shall warmly receive contributions for publication in our journal that comply to the Editorial Policy. send them to maldiveeconomy@gmail.com

Charles Lutwidge Dodgson, more famously known as Lewis Carrol, in 1872 wrote, ‘the time has come …to talk of many things… of shoes, and ships, and sealing-wax, of cabbages, and kings…’ The time is indeed right and apt today to reembark once again on this journey.
